2025 Colour Trends

Colour is at the heart of everything – from uncouth undertones to the beautifully bashful. We tend to favour rich and enhancing tones which reflect the sleek, stripped back elegance of nature. Living in the open-air is our passion, which is why we gravitate towards the earth-inspired palettes, blending our speciality of the indoors with the outdoors.

Here we speak to Lucy, our Marketing Executive, to cover the 2025 colour trends, and our previous dabbles into the sought-after tones.

Mahogany

First up we have mahogany – a deep red with purple and brown hues. It is a timeless classic which offers a warm richness. When used in commercial spaces, mahogany can effortlessly add a sense of professionalism and superiority. However, in the setting of the home, it is a cosy tone that can build your personal sanctuary and evoke a sense of nostalgia. “My favourite use of mahogany by Garden House Design is the Powder-Coated Renson Camargue seen – I think – back in 2019. It was created for a beautiful eco-house in Horsham, West Sussex and set within acres of stunning gardens.” – says Lucy. “Compared to the muted and earthy tones of the planting and natural aesthetics of the materials used to build the home, the pop of this deep red in the garden creates a whole other showstopper on the property. With the nod of the colour in the bordering flower bed, this mahogany Camargue creates a lovely oasis.”

Blues

We see blue everywhere in nature and due to the wide range of colours within, it can create a sense of casual familiarity. Blue can be vibrant and lurid, creating statement pieces through its boldness. However, it is also neutral enough to seamlessly blend into existing palettes. “We have lots of blue hidden within our earthy palette, most notable is the Vlaze ADAPT collection. The thing I particularly love about our Vlaze collection is the Indigo range – it’s incredibly deep and comforting. When kitting out one of our canopies with a full Vlaze Indigo kitchen, the dark intensity of the colour creates a very warm atmosphere, despite blues being considered cold colours, and can make any canopy feel welcoming. And then throw in the Vlaze ADAPT Fridge with its electric blue internal lighting and you get the best of both worlds in one compact space.”

Warm Neutrals

Neutrals have been the heart of Garden House Design for some time now – and we’re glad they are being recognised as a palette of their own rather than complementary colours! “We have lots of exclusive colours here at Garden House Design which perfectly fit with 2025 trends. Whilst neutrals have always been used to flatter partnering colours, GHD uses them in a way that allows them their own spotlight” says Lucy. Our exclusive Cappucino DeliVita Wood-Fired Oven is the perfect addition to any outdoor kitchen – plus, who doesn’t find wood-fired pizza warming?! The Cappucino shade is a beautiful nod to warm neutrals. With its olive-y undertones, it can be paired wonderfully with counters that are either complementary or it can be flipped on its head for a provocative contrast – both have a grounding effect and appreciate neutral’s understated elegance.

Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse

And finally, Pantone have released their 2025 Colour of the Year – Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse. They call the colour a “warming brown hue imbued with richness”. Leatrice Eiseman (Executive Director Pantone Colour Institute) states Mocha Mousse has “thoughtful indulgence. [It’s] sophisticated and lush, yet at the same time an unpretentious classic.” We couldn’t agree more. Mocha is used across all of Garden House Design, from canopies and kitchens to soft furnishings. Lucy’s mocha favourites are the Dark Mocha from London Stone and Vlaze ADAPT in GHD Exclusive – Mocha – pair the two together for head-to-toe elegance. Situated against the Loggia Panels of a Camargue and you’ve got a match made in heaven.
